Black Walnut for 14, Please
For the brewery that created the flagship beer Black Walnut Wheat, there’s really nothing more fitting than to have three giant, communal tables made of black walnut in our tap room. One of the three black walnut slab tables at the BARn. If you’ve been in the BARn in the past few months, surely you’ve noticed our black walnut tables. They are BIG. They are beautiful. And like all things Piney River, they have a story. Piney River Brewing is located on our Farm, and in the 20 years that we’ve owned our farm, we have lost some centuries old…

The Biggest Beer Fest in the US
Are you coming to see us at the 2018 Great American Beer Festival in Denver next week? Brian & Joleen - GABF '17 There’s a whole new set up on the festival floor this year, and we’re excited about it! In the past, the festival has been divided by region, which was fine but weird. Our friends and neighbors in Illinois were located in the “Great Lakes” region, not the Midwest. We always had people say they were looking for us next to breweries in the Great Lakes area, or they would have a Piney River beer and ask where…

Charity on Tap
If you've been to the BARn, you know that Piney River loves to support local charity. Every month, we have a local charity that we support with a portion of our sample tray sales. We've been able to help some great charities--The Missouri Smallmouth Alliance, the Texas County Food Pantry, Women in Need in the Ozarks, TCMH Hospice of Care, the Houston Education Foundation, just to name a few. The Charity of the Month at the BARn is chosen by Brian, Andy and I to support a cause that is important to us. We try to stick with charities that…

Sometimes It’s Good to Be High
We've been practicing...staying up late, drinking something with a big ABV every night, pushing ourselves in anticipation of a trip to Denver, Colorado. Denver has been good to us. We took home a gold for Old Tom Porter at Great American Beer Festival in Denver. We took home gold for Float Trip Ale at the World Beer Cup in Denver. We always find our way to Star Bar, Euclid Hall, Rioja, and Acorn when we're in Denver. Our friends at New Belgium and other breweries in the area welcome beer family with open arms. The Mile High City is always a…

Honey, I Shrunk the Piney River Cans
Today was a cloudy, rainy day on the Piney River Farm; not too different from the cloudy, rainy night in 2011 when Piney River first canned craft beer in the Ozarks. Today’s first--12 ounce Piney River cans. Those of us that have been canning beer on the Farm are still trying to adjust to these smaller cans in our hands, but we’re doing what many of our consumers and our distributors have asked us to do by putting our beer in a smaller can. Waaay back in 2011 when Piney River was the first microbrewery in the state to can beer…

Chchchchanges Coming in 2017
We are so excited to bring you the Piney River Brewing Company 2017 release calendar! Twelve ounce cans are headed your way! There will be more information about that later, and actual 12 oz cans sooner rather than later, too. Stay tuned for that! We are releasing--in limited quantities--new canned beers throughout the year. They are Raise a Ruckus Imperial Stout, River Access Ozarks Lager and Aux Arcs Saison. And that foeder, those barrels, the original BARn is officially where we've got the funk going on. The first of our Farm Raised Funk was Lizzie Twister, the first funkified beer…
