Fall on the Farm–Oh, the Irony!

We didn’t have measurable rain in Texas County for WEEKS! We were officially in a drought. We had been feeding hay to our cows because our summer pastures were shot. But on October 18th, the skies opened up. It wasn’t until the afternoon of the 18th that the rain started falling, and it ended about 10 p.m., just in time for things to come to an end. The drought, thanks to the rain falling on our farm, was broken, too.

I wouldn’t call the 2025 Fall on the Farm a wash out, but the rain definitely dampened the turnout. Plus, for about a week in advance the local weather forecasters were showing maps of “potentially threatening situations”.  Golf ball size hail, strong wind, localized flooding…be weather aware! Drought to stormpocolypse…I can understand why people were afraid to go anywhere.

The good thing is that we have some people that wouldn’t let neither wind, nor rain, nor hail stop them from a throw down at the BARn. People in the Ozarks are relatively undaunted by a little weather, especially when there’s a good time between them and some rain. We are grateful to those of you that did come out to enjoy the music from One More Dollar Band and Drifters Mile. The German food from Freiheit Ranch was awesome. The beers were cold and delicious.

The Farm on 10/17, hours before Fall on the Farm.

We set up a bier hall inside the brewery for additional seating, a place to eat food, play bags, etc.

Wine & whiskey barrel tables we whipped up for the weekend.

The Freiheit Ranch menu didn’t disappoint, and it went GREAT with a cold German Road Oktoberfest!

We have the best beertenders!

Thanks to Destiny & Stephanie for helping us out for the day!

The rain came down.

But it didn’t dampen the fun.
