Making Memories in the Ozarks Since 1954

Sunset from our cabin at Rockbridge

There’s a really special place in the Ozarks. Maybe you’ve heard that here before, but really, this place is special because everyone will find something to love at Rockbridge Trout & Game Ranch in Rockbridge, MO. The community of Rockbridge dates back to the mid-1800 when settlers from Kentucky founded the community on the banks of Spring Creek. Like many old communities in the Ozarks, a mill became the engine of the Rockbridge community, and this mill still stands today. Here’s the full history of Rockbridge if you want to take a gander.

The Rockbridge Mill

The Amyx family, part of those original settlers of Rockbridge, Missouri, purchased property to start the Trout Ranch in 1946. Like a lot of great Ozarks traditions, the Amyx family still owns and manages Rockbridge today. The Mill is a place to enjoy a cold pint of beer while listening to the sound of Spring Creek below. Cabins and hotel rooms are available at Rockbridge as well as a full-service restaurant with everything from biscuits and gravy for breakfast to steaks for dinner (or lunch). We love the fresh trout on the menu, and we always start our meal with the smoked trout dip. At Rockbridge there’s hunting, hiking, trap shooting, and trout fishing, too. There are frequently eagles overhead, and we’ve seen foxes and coyotes, and squirrels and chipmunks run around the grounds, too. You can catch and keep fish. You can catch and release your fish. You can even get a guide to help you catch fish if you’re a novice. No matter how you enjoy it, Rockbridge is a wonderful place to experience the Ozarks, and there’s something for everyone.

We have been going to Rockbridge for fishing, food, and fun for a long time. It’s become a favorite place to getaway for a little quick and easy trout fishing on the fly whenever we have time. Our family believes in the restorative power of standing in an Ozark stream, and we love enjoying time at Spring Creek. We’ve taken many different friends and family members over the years, too. We’ve celebrated birthdays and other special occasions. One year we even got away to bring in the New Year, staying for a couple of days in a cabin and enjoying some cold but fun winter fishing.

Rockbridge Spring Creek Lager

Rockbridge has always been a great supporter of beer made in the Ozarks. They will tell you that our Black Walnut Wheat is their most popular beer. Andy’s Root Beer flies off the shelves at Rockbridge, too.

Now when you go to Rockbridge, you can drink a very special brew celebrating the 75+ years of Rockbridge Trout & Game Ranch…introducing Rockbridge Spring Creek Lager!
