15 Years of Beer! We Celebrated in Brewcyrus

The sun came up on March 28, 2026 to the 15th anniversary of Piney River Brewing Co. Just like Saturdays for the past 15 years, we opened our doors and poured our beers. Fifteen years later, we are still pretty amazed to be here. Even more amazing that we have made so many friends over the years that celebrate with us! Brian and I tried to talk to or at least smile at everyone on Saturday.  I managed to pour a few pints for people, too.  Andy was home for the week on a short break between his winter and…

Bock Bawk Bawk Bawk Bawk

When you get your hands on Piney River's latest new beer, you will see there's a question on the side of the can. What comes first? The chicken? Or the beer? Just like every Piney River beer, there's a story behind Bock Bawk. So, when you're enjoying a Bock Bawk or sharing it with a friend, you can tell, them you know the answer to what came first! As you probably know, we are a farm brewery in the Ozarks. Our farm is a beef cattle farm, and we have quite the affinity for our cows. We don't have mules,…

Making Memories in the Ozarks Since 1954

Sunset from our cabin at Rockbridge There's a really special place in the Ozarks. Maybe you've heard that here before, but really, this place is special because everyone will find something to love at Rockbridge Trout & Game Ranch in Rockbridge, MO. The community of Rockbridge dates back to the mid-1800 when settlers from Kentucky founded the community on the banks of Spring Creek. Like many old communities in the Ozarks, a mill became the engine of the Rockbridge community, and this mill still stands today. Here's the full history of Rockbridge if you want to take a gander. The…

Pretty Good. Not Bad. I Can’t Complain.

How do you come up with beers? It's a question a lot of people ask. I wish there was a magic beer recipe and viola! magic beer name machine. Stick a quarter or two in...great ideas pop out. No such luck. Put here's what happened when Brian and I were drinking and listening to music on our back patio last summer....As the marketing person in this operation, I was thinking ahead to 2025 and the marketing materials--names, labels, sell sheets, etc.--that I would have to create within the next couple of months. Not to mention that I wasn't even sure…

Beer + Cheese Please! A Piney River Pairing Guide

The Piney River Brewing tent at Ozarks Beerfest with none other than Joleen and Brian slinging the beer samples! Over the weekend we poured beer at Ozarks Beerfest in Springfield. We've been attending/pouring beer at this fest for a long time, and while beerfests are a love/hate relationship with breweries, we usually participate in this fest because the main sponsor is Price Cutter, which is one of the places in SW Missouri where you can easily find Piney River beer. Price Cutter supports us; we support this event which in turn benefits Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Ozarks. The weather…
It Takes A Mule Team Beer EventsThe BARnThe Beer

It Takes A Mule Team

In 2014 we celebrated the 3rd Aleiversary at Piney River Brewing Co. with a special release imperial IPA that we called "Mule Team" paying homage to our Missouri Mule IPA and the team of people that it takes to make a packaging microbrewery on a Farm in the Ozarks work. Craft beer changes led us to stop making Mule Team after the 8th Aleiversary in 2019. The beer is very expensive to make due to the large amount of malt and hops, and by 2019 a lot of breweries had IPAs, imperial IPAs, hazy IPAs, you name it. There wasn't…
