Shot Through the Heart, And We’re to Blame

It's a song. It's for a movie. It's the name of a beer! But not just any beer. It's a very special collabeeration with our friends at Alamo Drafthouse in Springfield and in St. Louis. Drumroll please...Shot Through the Heart! A delicious, highly crushable red lager to be paired with The Fall Guy or whatever movie, or trivia, or Backlot hang you've got going on. First of all, a little bit about the movie, The Fall Guy, which stars Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. It's an action comedy. A stunt guy trying to be cool. A pissed off ex-girlfriend. Go…

Piney River’s 11th Aleiversary Planned for March 26th

Piney River Brewing Company is celebrating 11 years of brewing craft beer in the Ozarks at the brewery in Bucyrus in March. The “11th Aleiversary” party will be held at the BARn from 12 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 26. The annual party features beer releases, live music, and food. The March event marks the return of the Aleiversary to its traditional spring date near the time the brewery opened the BARn taproom in March 2011. The Piney River Bed & Brewery Has Vacancy

We don't serve breakfast. So don't get your hopes up about that. Unless you consider a beer breakfast, which really isn't a bad idea. In March 2019 we had the opportunity to increase the size of our Farm by purchasing an 80-acre farm on our road. The farm was a Missouri Century Farm because it had been in the Wall family for over 100 years, but the time came when there wasn't a family member to continue farming the land. We were contacted about purchasing the land, house, barns and outbuildings, and we saw a lot of potential. Mostly we…

Fest with Beers in October

The leaves are changing. There's a cool nip in the air every morning. The antlered deer and brown trout are showing off. The Oktoberfest lagers and pumpkin spiced beers are on the shelves, too. This is the time of year when we would usually regale you with a Saturday afternoon of music, food, and beer with Fall on the Farm. Due to concerns with community spread of Covid-19 in large gatherings, we continue to keep the BARn open but keeping the music simple and the food limited to pizza. We GREATLY appreciate all of your support over the past few…

Love at Your Local Brewery

If you've been to the BARn, you know that we're pretty laid back. We're not the kind of place where you need a reservation. When presented with Valentine's Day falling on a day that we are open, we knew we had to brew up some love in our laid back, BARn way. Friday night--Valentine's Day--and all weekend long, we're doing something that we hope you will love--A Valentine's Day Special. In true Piney River style, our special includes beers of your choice paired with a single-topping pizza followed up by a homemade, stout brownie (warm, studded with dark chocolate) topped…
Black Walnut for 14, Please The BARn

Black Walnut for 14, Please

For the brewery that created the flagship beer Black Walnut Wheat, there’s really nothing more fitting than to have three giant, communal tables made of black walnut in our tap room. One of the three black walnut slab tables at the BARn. If you’ve been in the BARn in the past few months, surely you’ve noticed our black walnut tables. They are BIG. They are beautiful. And like all things Piney River, they have a story. Piney River Brewing is located on our Farm, and in the 20 years that we’ve owned our farm, we have lost some centuries old…

Charity on Tap

If you've been to the BARn, you know that Piney River loves to support local charity.  Every month, we have a local charity that we support with a portion of our sample tray sales.  We've been able to help some great charities--The Missouri Smallmouth Alliance, the Texas County Food Pantry, Women in Need in the Ozarks, TCMH Hospice of Care, the Houston Education Foundation, just to name a few.  The Charity of the Month at the BARn is chosen by Brian, Andy and I to support a cause that is important to us.  We try to stick with charities that…
